Exhibitor/stallholder applications for 2012
It’s that time of year again! All information regarding the application process is now included with the downloadable forms below. Abergavenny Food Festival events are for FOOD PRODUCERS ONLY. We have a few stalls (3-5) for directly food related artisan crafts. If you are selling anything else, these events are not for you.
Free stall offer for one new producer!
This year we are offering a free stall at our Festival in September to a new producer. If you produce your own stock, have been in business for under two years and your business turns over less than £20,000 a year, you are eligible to be considered; just check the relevant box on our application form.
Closing date for September and Christmas applications: 12 March 2012
Exhibitor/stallholder FAQs
If you need some information and you can't find it here or with the application form, please contact us
FAQs – both events
Q. How do I apply?
A. Applications are currently open. Download the relevant application form above and submit it to us by the application deadline.
Q. How many visitors attend your events?
A. Depending on the weather, between 30,000 and 40,000 people attend the Festival in September and about 4,000 come to the Christmas Fair.
Q. What are your selection criteria?
A. We constantly review our selection criteria but tend to come back to one or two basic principles. We want to show great Welsh products; we want to show great local products; and, on occasion, we want to show great products that cannot be found in Wales and the Borders. Inevitably there are some judgement calls. We also have to be customer-focussed and for this reason we look for quality; we look for a good mix; and we look to change some of our exhibitors from year-to-year.
Q. What can I do to optimise my chances of selection?
A. September Festival: offer something a bit different – visitor feedback cites too many meat burgers, sausages and chutneys. Christmas Fair: only apply if you can offer seasonal fare.
Within reason, give as much information with your application as possible. If you are cooking food for immediate consumption, provide a menu and price list.
Samples are not required but, where practical, they can help your produce stand out from the crowd.
If you are attending any events local to us, let us know and we will try to get out to see your stall and produce.
Q. What is a risk assessment and how do I create one?
A. For full information on risk assessments please visit the following government web page: www.hse.gov.uk/simple-health-safety/manage.htm
