David Fell

Green Economist and Food Strategist: Brook Lyndhurst Ltd

David Fell

David Fell is founder and director of Brook Lyndhurst. An economist, he has spent many years studying consumer behaviour, initially from an economic perspective, and for the past decade or so from a sustainability perspective. In recent years he has been paying special attention to food issues: he developed and wrote the London Food Strategy for the GLA, he has developed 'scenarios' for Defra that explore the links between our food choices and the consequences for climate change, and he has looked at how date labels and storage guidance influence our eat/throw decisions, for WRAP. Most particularly, across issues such as animal welfare, food waste, health and ethical trade, he has been exploring the gap that seems to exist between what consumers say about food, and what they actually do.

David lives in London, spends a lot of time watching his sons play cricket, and blogs at economicsofenough.blogspot.com
