What's your cup of tea?

Do you usually stick to English Breakfast tea? Now's your chance to try some of the more unusual teas on The Angel Hotel's extensive menu, which changes seasonally. A Taste of the Danube

Australian Wine Dinner

The Bell at Skenfrith will celebrate its tenth consecutive Australian Wine Dinner, a long-standing Festival Fringe Event. Janet and William, in conjunction with Negociants UK, will welcome Matthew Jukes, the Daily Mail wine columnist and recent winner of Australia Day's Honorary Australian of 2012 Award. Matthew will choose wines from the Yalumba region to complement the five-course menu from Head Chef Kristian Greenwell.

Fringe Sunday Lunch at The Bell

This popular lunch starts at 12 noon with a tour of the Kitchen Garden. Ancre Hill will be showcasing its delicious wines and there will be a talk from an invited guest. Kristian Greenwell will be creating a three course menu using seasonal food, using many ingredients from The Bell's own Kitchen Garden. The Bell at Skenfrith, proud winners of the 2012 AA Wine Award for Wales and the UK overall.

We are holding our very popular 'fishy' evening in celebration of the fruits of the sea, prepared by our team of chefs led by Gary Nugent. A five-course meal will be served with each dish accompanied by an appropriate wine. Paul from Tanners, our wine merchants, will be visiting each table to talk about the wines and their suitability to the food, with other suggestions to suit different occasions and palates.

Abergavenny Food Festival Mystery Gourmet Dinner

Enjoy an evening of Michelin Star Food, wonderful wines and serious fun at the recently awarded AA Restaurant of The Year 2011/12 Crown at Whitebrook. Champagne and Canapes on arrival followed by a seven course gourmet menu by Executive Head Chef James Sommerin served at 8.00pm (with accompanying wines). For added intrigue no menus are presented; you guess the ingredients! All will be revealed in due course. Informal seating at one large table with the wine guest speaker. Diners will also receive a copy of the menu signed by James. Dress is smart casual.

Scott's Welsh Supper – to commemorate the sailing of the Terra Nova from Cardiff in 1910

This supper, taking place in the centenary year of Captain Scott's race for the South Pole, commemorates the dinner given to Captain Robert Falcon Scott CVO, RN and officers and scientists of the British Antarctic Expedition, prior to their departure from Cardiff.
