"Ingredients for a fine walk" provides the perfect recipe for an enjoyable day out in the countryside around Abergavenny. A 10 mile energetic walk to the Blorenge via the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal, Keeper's Pond and the Punchbowl combining stunning scenery, wildlife and local history. Wear boots/stout shoes and waterproofs. Bring a packed lunch and a camera for the views.

Tretower Apple Festival

The ever popular Apple Festival returns to Tretower Court to delight the visitor with over 100 varieties of apples to view and taste. All things apple-related will be there, from cider to fruit juice and bees to Border Morris dancing. Coffee, Cakes and Cruises on the
Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal

Recently launched, this stylish narrowboat on the picturesque Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal is the only floating café in Wales. Enjoy the views through the large windows or take a seat on the front deck when the weather is fine. Moored at Llanfoist Wharf just outside Abergavenny, it serves snacks, lunches and afternoon teas. On selected dates it slips it moorings for evening Supper Cruises and may be hired for private dinner parties. Leave your car in Llanfoist Crossing car park and take the short walk up Church Lane to the Canal.

Carmina in concert

An evening featuring a concert by Carmina with buffet and bar (times above). Carmina began their career in Bristol in the 1990's. They've toured all over the world and recorded five albums, two of which were produced by the legendary and highly respected Irish musician Donal Lunny. Their music is an intoxicating blend of Celtic-inspired themes and jazz improvisation, woven together in powerful original songs.

Teddy Bears Picnic & Duck Race

Bring a picnic and your bear for a relaxing sit down away from the hustle and bustle. Join in the fun of the annual Duck Race. All in support of SWHP Horse hospital near Monmouth that takes in abused and neglected horses and ponies and is wholly reliant on fund-raising. The Duck Race is in aid of the Winter Feed Bill.
