This short book responds to George Monbiot and others who propose that new technologies such as precision fermentation offer the opportunity to break the connection between food and farming; allowing us to both decarbonise our food system and return millions of acres to nature. Chris – author of A Small Farm Future – argues that ‘techno-fixes can’t save the climate, feed the world or restore the environment’ and calls instead for a radical re-localisation of food production.
