THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT. In Damascus Imad had two restaurants and a chain of juice bars before the war destroyed his businesses, forcing him to flee with his family to Lebanon and then make the perilous journey across Europe alone. Along the way he cooked for other refugees every day. In London he cooked at supper-clubs and pop-ups raising money for charities, eventually getting the opportunity to open his own restaurant. His story, told in his new cook book Imad’s Syrian Kitchen: A Love Letter from Damascus to London, is testament to the power of food to bring people together.
