The young Jake Fiennes swapped the life of a night club gopher for that of a farm dogsbody and launched himself into a life of farm work, game-keeping and eventually conservation. Now, as Conservation Manager on one of England’s largest estates, he works at the interface between commercial agriculture and nature protection. His years of practical experience underpin his conviction that a balance can and must be struck between the two; a case he argues eloquently in his book Land Healer: How Farming Can Save Britain’s Countryside.
