An evening of Spanish food and wine with Owen Morgan and David Menendez. A love of Spanish food and culture led Owen Morgan and his brother Tom to found their first Bar 44 nearly twenty years ago. Over time Bar 44 has grown organically into a small group of restaurants which have consistently set the standard for serving the best authentic Spanish food in South Wales and Bristol. Owen works closely with David Menendez, founder of Mevalco, the specialist Spanish importer. From very small beginnings, Mevalco has grown to supply many of the best restaurants in the UK. From ‘local to local’ is how David describes his mission to hook up British chefs with some of the finest artisanal producers operating in Spain today.
