Abergavenny is generally a very accessible town and the festival takes place right at the centre.
Food Festival car parks can be found at Bailey Park to the top of town, and Castle Meadows towards the bottom. To save time on the day, car parking can be paid for online in advance through our website.
Disabled/Accessible parking for blue badge holders can be found in Castle Street car park, situated next to Shopmobility, and in Bailey Park (please note this is a grass site).
Car parks will open at 8am on Saturday and Sunday, gates will be locked at 7pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday, with no access for an hour before closing times.
Tickets can be bought on the day or in advance on our website – please note these car parks get very busy so we’d encourage use of public transport whenever possible. More information is available here.
Our festival car parks are run by teams of volunteers from local community groups, with £2 from your £4 fee going directly to the groups running the car parks. Last year, you helped to raise over £7,000 for local volunteer groups.
For Abergavenny Shopmobility, please call 0800 298 3656 or email email@example.com to book.
Shopmobility Festival opening times are Saturday & Sunday 09:30 – 16:30.
There will be a road closure in place from St John’s Square along Castle Street, which will be manned by a steward over the weekend. Anyone with a blue badge will be allowed through the road closure and guided by our steward to disabled parking in Castle Street car park, which is directly next to Shopmobility.
Due to availability we cannot guarantee a space, so you are advised to arrive before 9:30am for the best chance of parking at this location.
All of our main market venues are accessible to wheelchair users and mobility scooters. We have disabled toilets in multiple different areas of the festival, which are marked on our Festival Map.
Chadwick’s yard has a ramp at either end and a gravel surface, which is not suitable for small wheeled scooters, but there is a short route around to Tivertons & Horsingtons.
Upper & Lower Brewery Yard are separated by steps, however there is wheelchair access between the two via Market Street.
Please be aware that there are some uneven surfaces and that it can become crowded at times.
Additional ticketed events take place in various locations around Abergavenny. Unfortunately the Timothy Oulton Drinks’ Theatre is not accessible for wheelchair users.
Most venues have hearing loops installed. Please get in touch to confirm this is the case for the events you wish to attend.
Please get in touch for more information about tickets for carers.
