When is the Abergavenny Food Festival?

Abergavenny Food Festival is held on the third weekend in September. In 2019 the festival will be held on the 21st and 22nd September.

What is the difference between wristbands and tickets?

Wristbands allow you access to the whole festival site. Event tickets are for separate events that happen during the festival weekend in various venues across the town.

Where is the festival?

The Abergavenny Food Festival takes place across the town of Abergavenny. You can find the full festival map here.

Where can I purchase wristbands? 

You can purchase wristbands in advance online by following this link.

Can I buy wristbands on the day?

Yes, wristbands can also be purchased on the day. They will cost £18 for a weekend wristband, £13 for a Saturday wristband and £10 for a Sunday wristband. Children under 16 can come along for free. You can purchase both wristbands and event tickets (subject to availability) from one of our three box offices, situated opposite St John’s Square in Castle Street car park, at the bottom of Cross Street by the bus station, and at the entrance to the Tiverton Producers’ Market. You will also find a Festival Information and Merchandise Point located on Market Street at the entrance to Upper Brewery Yard and at the Castle.

Where can I pick up wristbands and tickets?

From Tuesday 17th September you can buy, or pick up pre-paid tickets and wristbands from our box office in the Borough Theatre. This will be open from Tuesday 17th September from 10am to 6pm each day.

On the weekend of the festival you can buy, or pick up wristbands from any of our festival box offices.

What do I need to bring with me?

You will need to print out your ticket confirmation, sent to you via email and bring that with you. For wristbands you can collect them at any box office using this printed confirmation. For events, take your printed ticket confirmation directly to the event to gain entry.

Also don’t forget comfortable shoes, and a refillable water bottle.

Do you offer group discounts?

We can offer a 10% discount to groups of 10 or more. Please contact if you would like to discuss a group booking.

Do you offer a discount for local residents?

Yes, local residents with an NP7 postcode can receive a 20% discount on wristbands by using the promotional code LOCAL when booking their wristbands online.

Do you offer a discount for children?

Children under 16 can attend the festival for free, but they will need a wristband. Child wristbands are available here. Any additional event tickets would need to be purchased separately.

What are the opening hours?

On Saturday, the festival opens from 9:30 – 18:00 and will continue from 18:00 – 23:00 for the Night Market. On Sunday, the festival will be open from 09:30 – 17:00.

Am I allowed to bring my dog into the festival?

Unfortunately dogs, with the exception of assistance dogs, are not allowed in any of the internal or external market venues. As they may spend much of the day in your car, we advise that you leave your dog at home.
