Short, family-friendly and inspiring interactive talks in The Farmyard. Each morning between 10am – 12pm, there will be interactive hands-on experiences and mini workshops for kids of all ages in the Farmyard Activity Tent, from an introduction to felt making, spinning with local wool, wild tea making with foraged finds, an art area using paints made from soil and more. Check the chalkboards on site for timings of guest led demonstrations or just drop in to have a go.

Saturday 15th September

10:00 – Beyond Food with Our Farm Animals with goat and Dorset Down sheep farmer Natalie Hepburn, followed by a meet the goat and goat grooming demo at the Farmyard animal pens

10:30 – Why I Love Wool with Emma Bevan from Ffolky Felts, followed by a demo workshop in the Farmyard activity tent

11:00 – Mini Masterclass: Making Soil Paint with forager Liz Knight from Forage Fine Foods

11:40am – ‘Intelligent’ Tractors: Technology and Farming Growing Together (at the Farmyard entrance) with Anna and Frank Sutton, John Deere Raglan, followed by a tractor demo at noon

Sunday 16th September

10:15 –  If It Wasn’t for Sheep: What Sheep Have Done for Us with rare breed sheep farmer Jane Bissett, followed by a spinning wool demo in the activity tent

10:50 – From Piglet to Pork with Maurice Trumper from Trumper’s Farm, Monmouthshire

11:30 – Then and Now: Monmouthshire Women in Agriculture with Katrina Gass & Pamela Mason
