Raoul grew up in Belgium and learnt to forage with his grandmother before moving to Portugal to start a career selling mushrooms to famous Italian chef, Antonio Carluccio.
He then moved to the UK, and has since worked for TV chef Matt Tebbutt at the Foxhunter in Abergavenny as well as appearing on the likes of The One Show to talk about foraging with Jay Rayner. Raoul joined Tudor Farmhouse as their expert in-house forager back in July 2016.
He now runs a number of group foraging sessions throughout Spring and Autumn, teaching guests how best to spot wild ingredients in the Forest of Dean, from mushrooms and truffles to wild garlic and herbs. For Raoul, the joy is teaching guests about the delicious ingredients they can find on their doorstep for free! He also works closely with head chef Rob Cox, ensuring ingredients are as fresh and seasonal as possible.
