The Castle grounds are where you will find family activities. These take place on the Lower Lawns — all part of the Day Stroller Ticket experience (with free entry to the Festival for children under 13 if with a paying adult).
Castell Howell Kids’ Cookery School – Oggy Oggy Oggy, Oi, Oi, Oi!
The Cookery School is run by Sara Butler of Cook Stars Newport Ebbw Vale and Monmouthshire


There are ten bookable sessions. Join Sara and friends to make Welsh Oggies. FREE, BUT YOU MUST HAVE AN ADULT FESTIVAL MULTI-VENUE STROLLER TICKET TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE CASTLE GROUNDS.
On Saturday we have a Sesiwn Iaith Gymraeg /Welsh language session (11am-12pm). On Sunday we have a Quiet Session (9.30am-10.30am), perfect for children with additional needs eg sensory processing, or who just prefer a quieter environment.

Willow Weaving Workshop
An opportunity for the whole family to get creative making willow dragonflies, bird and snails, with Becky and Jon White.
Pot et Fleur Flower Crowns
Make charming headdresses, with flowers grown locally by Frani and Harriet.
Air Tatts
Air brush temporary tattoos, which last up to 7 day, for all ages; different colours and design combinations, by Polly Powell.
Funkey Monkey Face Painting
Fabulous animals and sea creatures created with face paints.
Baby Feeding and Changing Tent

Bees for Development
Bees for Development believe in the power of bees to create sustainable livelihoods for people aroud the world. They teach nature-based beekeeping with local trainers using local beekeeping methods and local bees, all contributing to a positive impact on both people’s livelihoods and the environment they live in.
Bees for Development currently manage projects in countries around the world including Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Ghana and Peru. Its offices are in Monmouth, South Wales.

An opportunity to find out more about this Devon based, employee owned, Organic Veg Box Scheme. Fruits and vegetables at their seasonal best, with produce fresh from the farm to your door.
Fun and Games
Join Monsieur BonBon and Madame Saucisson for traditional family games and challenges with donuts!
The duo will also be hosting the musical Food Quiz at 3.30pm on Saturday; and again at 3.30pm on Sunday in the Octopus Books Dome – the Festival’s joyful finale!
