We are thrilled to announce that our official 2019 charity partner for Abergavenny Food Festival is Action Against Hunger.
Action Against Hunger is a global humanitarian organisation that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. They save the lives of malnourished children. Ensure everyone can access clean water, food, training and healthcare. They enable people to provide for themselves and see their children grow up strong. They enable entire communities to be free from hunger.
The charity has been working with the UK food industry for over 20 years and are proud to be the industry’s charity of choice. Year-round, they work with chefs, restaurants, critics, bloggers and food lovers to raise funds for their life-saving work around the world. This is how our CEO Aine Morris came into contact with the charity and felt compelled to do what she could to support their activities:
“In 2018 I took part in a trek to Nepal with Action Against Hunger to raise money for the life changing work they undertake in almost 50 countries across the world. I am so pleased that this year, the festival can continue to support this vital charity, and with the help of our visitors we can do even more to stop hunger”.
Even a small donation can make a big difference, so this year you’ll find an option to contribute when you buy any of our wristbands, event tickets or merchandise for the 2019 Abergavenny Food Festival. All you have to do is add your preferred donation amount when you check out.
