Applications are now open to trade at the Abergavenny Food Festival 2024 (Sat 21 and Sun 22 Sept). Closing date: Tues 27 Feb. Selections will be made early to mid-March and all applicants notified by early April on the outcome of their application.*
We only accept applications from food, drinks, cookware, tableware and outdoor cooking related traders. Please note: you must have a food hygiene score of 4* or above to be considered (if applicable to your business).
All eligible applications are put towards a Selection Panel who make selections based on 3 key criteria – quality, taste and sustainability. If you are a new trader or have not traded with us before, we may ask for a sample of your product to get to know you better, but this is not mandatory.
PLEASE NOTE: Whilst we prioritise local, Welsh and Borders producers and products where possible when they also meet our criteria, just being local or Welsh is not a guarantee of being selected.
WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT?
We get a lot of applications for a limited number of stalls so before you apply, consider what makes you unique and stand out. Use the application form to tell us what puts you above others who offer the same as you.
This is especially key in highly competitive and popular categories such as baked goods, beer, cakes and patisserie, cider, confectionery, honey, jams and preserves, spirits and street food.
*If your application is successful a 50% deposit of the pitch fee will be required to be paid by Thurs 28 March to secure your booking. The remaining 50% balance will be due on Fri 24 May so please make sure you can meet these payment deadlines before applying.

This year’s markets include:
The Market Hall, Upper Brewery Yard, Lower Brewery Yard (including the Street Food Night Market), Tiverton Place (including the Cheese and Wine Market), The Priory Courtyard and The Priory Souk (both now home to the extended New and Small Producers market to further support start-ups, fledging businesses and small producers), and The Castle.
For 2024 we are introducing a new family-focused area next to The Priory – Little Field – a market and green space dedicated to family, child and baby-friendly activities and businesses.
NEW PRODUCER’S BURSARY 2024
Thanks to our generous sponsors, Gower Cottage Brownies, the New Producer’s Bursary will again be available.
One lucky new producer will be selected for a free pitch at our 2024 event in The Priory Souk, including promotions across our social channels, plus a pre-event chat and Festival weekend meet and greet with Kate Jenkins of Gower Cottage Brownies to support and advise.
This Bursary is part of the Festival’s on-going initiative to encourage more new businesses and start-ups to be able to come to the festival, and to access support and guidance to grow their businesses.
Eligibility: Must be a new producer trading for 2 years or less with a profit of less than 10k per annum. You must be fully operational and in production and able to provide sufficient stock for the full event in order to be considered. A selection will be made in March / April by Kate and a small panel.
